CaRelief is an experienced SIL provider in South East Queensland, dedicated to empoweringindividuals with disabilities to live independently through personalised support. Contact us today to discuss your needs.
The term Supported Independent Living, otherwise known as SIL, refers to professional care provided to people who have a disability that need support to live independently. Whether a participant is to live on their own or in shared housing, SIL aims to boost their quality of life and freedom as much as possible.
Living support can include assistance with daily tasks and activities that may be difficult for a participant to complete on their own, including cooking meals, personal care tasks, medication management, help with transportation, support with social and recreational activities and more. CaRelief can assist with creating a personalised support plan by considering the participants living goals, needs, preferences and funding. The goal is for a participant with a disability to live independently whilst also building on their own living skills to enhance their daily life.
There are many benefits of NDIS supported living, but perhaps the most vital is the ability for people with disabilities to be supported to live as independently as possible. The goal of SIL is to provide people with disabilities with methods and techniques to establish their own unique lifestyle. Whether the participant has a recent or lifelong disability, CaRelief is able to provide them with the tools they need to live as happy and productive a life as possible.
SIL services are available for people with disabilities under the age of 65 that qualify based on the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) eligibility criteria for Supported Independent Living. You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or have a protected special category visa and living in Australia.
Funding is based on assessing your disability support, housing needs, daily support needs and recommendations of your allied health professionals. If you're unsure if you qualify or if you need help applying,
contact us today.
