About Us

Hi, My name is Melissa Pierre. I founded CaRelief to help more people get the support they truly need in the complex world of NDIS. Like most family members do when her mum was diagnosed. Melissa got 3 times more funding for her and is now considered a rising champion in South East Queensland helping others on their NDIS journey. Our Story

My mother was recently diagnosed with dementia and I became her full-time carer at the same time my 2nd child was born. We were introduced to NDIS due to mum being only 62 but we found the process extremely frustrating and disappointing. We didn’t get funding for any of the medical expenses mum needed. But she did get a small amount for socialising.

It was stressful and overwhelming, introduction to NDIS and the struggles in the application process. I have learned so much in the past year that I have now used my sales and management background to become a Support Co-ordinator.

I decided to educate myself with the NDIS process and requested a review where I put together the plan mum wanted and needed.

The result was that her quality of life in less than a year was significantly changed for the better, and she is relaxed and not so stressed or frustrated which was essentially. She went from being covered for just socialising to all her medical and respite services covered which equalled to three times more funding then first applied!

I am seeing the tangible benefits to her quality of life such as:

  • We aren’t fighting as much, she is calmer and safe. She is now open for help, not just from me but services she has never wanted to use.
  • She is out meeting new people and having fun instead of stressing about life and bills
  • She is calmer, she is understanding her condition and learning how to live with it which is helping her live better and hopefully longer! Which will also keep her at home with us longer instead of in a nursing home on her own!

My passion is to help more people like my mum under NDIS.
